Shoptalk pause: We're off to the races

With all the attention from the media and Royal Family regarding what NOT to wear to the Royal Ascot races this year, my fellow North American friend and I have been understandably concerned about our attire for tomorrow's Ladies Day. 

I've planned a concoction of Southern wedding attire, headgear leftover from Grand National '06, and a pair of heels that will need a precise dosage of Pimm's to keep me both semi-comfortable and upright.

My Canadian friend, on the other hand, is still debating her options in the 11th hour. 

And while I was impressed by the directorial skills of her photographer husband, what really impressed me was my friend's powerpointastic presentation:

Is Target making a statement here, or did the price-per-pound of models' flesh just become too much to justify?

Target to host a virtual model fashion show in NYC's Grand Central Terminal next Tuesday and Wednesday.

 

"The retailer plans to use a two dimensional projection system that will create the illusion of a three dimensional image. Apparently clothing and accessories will appear to float down a virtual runway. The general public can catch the show every ten minutes."
