apologies to those unfamiliar with the Jefferson's theme song.  you are missing out. 

I'm likely to be a bit quiet here for a while.  I've just moved house, so in-between unpacking, marveling at the inefficiencies of British utilities providers, and roaming the streets with an open laptop in search of a wireless signal, I probably won't be able to post too much.

Hope to be back soon!  But until then, have a listen to Julian Baggini  on BBC radio 4 - contemplating how sad it is that you might not know the Jefferson's theme song, and what it means for our collective conscious.  :(

And then I'm reminded of things I don't like about London: no Mexican food.  Oh it might be called "Mexican," and it might look like Mexican, but I am fairly confident that the ingredients used are anything but.

That's right - those are smushy, not quite mushy peas rolling out of that "fahita."

I was psyched when I heard the news about Jerry and Bill.

But the first ad left me a little underwhelmed:

Yet I'm starting to warm to the campaign with the second installment... especially with the use of such subtle, yet effective reminders that Mac is still the little guy with limited (albeit loveable) market share (4.2 vs. 94.9%).   "Microsoft:  Perpetually Connecting."

Touche!

Daily Show - No more for you, little Briton!

But WAIT - NO!!!  I'm one of you!! 

Thwarted again. After months of watching the Daily Show on my laptop in London, I'm suddenly punished for my GB IP address.

But no worries, as long as I can get my Daily fix somewhere...

NOOO!!! (I have a Mac)

I see only two options ahead, and neither one involves me watching any of Channel 4's ads (despite my good intentions).
